NEW DELHI: The Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup is all set to be named next week with the nationwide selectors assembly after the fourth Test towards England. The closing date of naming the squad hasn’t been determined but, however it’ll occur by Friday — deadline.
Speaking to ANI, sources within the know of developments stated the T20 World Cup squad will be picked as soon as the fourth Test ends. “We are looking at Monday or Tuesday for now, but the date isn’t fixed yet. But it will happen by Friday as 10th is the ICC’s cut-off date,” the supply stated.
So far, New Zealand and Australia have named their squads for the upcoming marquee occasion.
India and Pakistan will be locking horns on October 24 in a group-stage encounter of the upcoming T20 World Cup. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman will get underway from October 17, with the ultimate to be performed in Dubai on November 14.
The match will start with the Round 1 Group B encounter between hosts Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 17, with Scotland and Bangladesh, the opposite groups in Group B, clashing within the night match.
